Seventeen years ago extreme sports ambassador Tony Hawk pulled off his famous 900 revolution at the 1999 X-games. Now 48, Hawk is still rocking the skateboarding world with the premier of his new 180 skateboard flop into a warm bath.
The trick involves running a bath that is not too hot, and not too cold, then pulling off a sick 180 degree board rotation and landing inside the tub.
After a few practice flops Hawk pulled off the incredible half rotation with finishing warm bath flop to cheers and celebration from the 50 fans and videographers who had ironically crowded into the bathroom to witness, what one onlooker called, “a wicked embarrassing event.”
Hawk has acknowledged that he isn’t able to pull off some of the more difficult moves that made him a household name almost two decades ago. But he has continued to be an innovator perfecting moves like the “180 warm bath flop” and his new “goofyfoot kickflip onto his lazy boy to watch tv.”
