Tim Tebow is performing miracles on the baseball diamond, and not everyone is amused. Yesterday, Tebow turned a curveball into wine and was promptly ejected by the home plate umpire.
The incident took place in the fifth inning of yesterday’s instructional league game, when Tebow came to the plate with two outs and nobody on. Down in the count 1-2, Tebow was delivered the breaking ball and with one swing of the bat, turned the ball into a splash of wine.
“I guess not everyone appreciates the power of the Lord,” said Tebow, a mischievous smile appearing on his face. “I thought those guys might enjoy the old vino trick, but to be fair, it did get a little messy.”
This is a bit of an understatement, as the wine splattered everywhere upon impact with Tebow’s bat, completely ruining the uniforms of the catcher and umpire. Tebow’s uniform, though, remained miraculously clean.
Following the stunt, Tebow was called out, at which point he looked to the sky and ascended out of the stadium.
