NFL quarterback and Harvard graduate Ryan Fitzpatrick will spearhead test prep giant Kaplan’s new initiative to provide private Wonderlic tutoring to prospects at the NFL combine.
“This is a new market for us,” Fitzpatrick said, who has been tutoring the SAT, ACT, LSAT, and MCAT after games and practices throughout his career to make extra cash.
Fitzpatrick has been working one-on-one with students, as well as in small groups in dedicated rooms around the Combine.
“It’s not as big a market as some of our other tests,” Fitzpatrick conceded. “But Richard Branson and Guy Kawasaki stress the importance of discovering niche markets within your business models.”
Most prospects, according to Kaplan, have called Fitzpatrick some version of the pejorative term “nerd” or “dork” before softly apologizing and requesting help.
