News of the New York Knicks’ acquisition of Derrick Rose spread quickly throughout the city, as many New Yorkers were excited to see Rose rehab in a Knicks uniform.
“I grew up watching D-Rose play,” said Jason, a New York native. “Now I get to see him wearing my home team’s colors as he sits on the bench icing his knees! It’s crazy exciting.”
Derrick Rose came to the Knicks in a multi-player deal with the Chicago Bulls that, sources say, “left both teams optimistically confused.”
The Knicks new coach Jeff Hornacek released a statement immediately after the trade announcement: “We’re excited to have Derrick with us. We look forward to seeing him play a game or two here, and a game or two there.”
Rose said he expects to suit up for all 82 rehabs this season.
