With the impending announcement that the New York Jets would be naming Geno Smith their starting quarterback, millions of fantasy football players rushed to their computers and mobile devices to still not pick Smith up.

“We have never seen activity like this,” said Jason Bertrand, the head programmer for ESPN’s fantasy football app. “Since the announcement people have been flocking to the website. I can only assume everyone is simply checking to make sure Geno Smith is still not on their team.”

According Yahoo.com’s fantasy football help center, the number one question being asked right now is: How can I be sure Geno Smith won’t accidentally be added to my roster?

[UPDATE] One fantasy player, who asked to be identified only as G. Smith, reached out to say that he had indeed picked up Geno Smith, and was even considering starting him.
