I may be bringing a gold medal home with me from Rio, but I’m also bringing the knowledge of what it takes to be a champion. And if the Knicks want to be great, if they want to be champions, all they need to do is surround me with the very best players in the NBA. Period.
I don’t want to knock their strategy up until now: acquiring the best players that were available at the time and giving it their best shot. But what about, you know, just flat out getting the best players no matter what?
Sure, Durant just signed with the Warriors. But hear me out: what if we got him anyway? Or, Jimmy Butler? I mean, we got D-Rose from Chicago, which is great. But there are other great players over there that the Knicks totally didn’t invite to play with us.
What about Deandre Jordan, Kyrie Irving, or Draymond Green? The Knicks would be so much better if I was flanked by players like that. Think about it. Batman is better when he has Robin at his side. I’m talking about making Batman even greater by putting a team of more Batmans around ALL of his sides.
