Taking a stand against what he calls “years of injustice in this country”, Colin Kaepernick vowed to throw dozens of interceptions this upcoming season.
“People are not being held accountable for their actions,” Kaepernick explained, “And until we recognize what’s going on in this country, I’m going to throw at least one interception per game. Sometimes two. Maybe even three. That’s how strongly I feel about this.”
“There are thousands of people that don’t have a voice in America,” said Kaepernick. “And each interception I throw this season will be dedicated to one of them. I don’t know if I will get to all of them, but I’m gonna try.”
Kaepernick said that he probably couldn’t throw an interception every time, but he could at least throw an incompletion.
Kaepernick’s teammates said they support his decision, and backup QB Christian Ponder joined the protest this preseason by throwing an interception against the Packers.
