Rams rookie quarterback Jared Goff accidentally joined the Black Lives Matter protest by tying his shoes during the national anthem.

“I guess I appreciate the support,” said a confused Colin Kaepernick, who began the anthem protest during the preseason. “Oh, he was just tying his shoe? Yeah, that makes more sense to me.”

Goff seemed fully unprepared for the deluge of questions directed toward him during postgame interviews, alternatively trying to explain that he was lacing his shoe and saying that racial inequality needs to be addressed.

“Guys, can you leave me alone? These questions are making my head hurt,” said a dazed Goff.

Rams staff say they would not be surprised if Goff continues his protest next week while trying to pick up something shiny he sees on the turf.
