In an effort to convince Von Miller to end his contract holdout, the Denver front office has enlisted Broncos legend John Elway to convince the star linebacker to sign.
Miller, the MVP of Denver’s Super Bowl win, wants at least $60 million guaranteed while the Broncos have offered $38.5 million guaranteed. But Denver has had Elway, one of the franchise’s most revered players, talk to Miller about the wisdom of remaining with a team and city with such a proud tradition—or at least playing 2016 under the franchise tag.
“Elway has talked almost every day to Miller or Miller’s agent,” said one front office source. “Elway can talk to Miller player-to-player, which team executives—like, a GM—can’t do.”
If Miller doesn’t sign soon, the front office plan to enlist help from former Broncos backup quarterback Gary Kubiak.
