Saying that a silly piece of themed headgear makes him feel most comfortable, Lee Corso reflected on his 20 years of doing ESPN’s College GameDay.

It was an emotional look back for the old coach, who is retiring from broadcasting this season. He thanked the fans for their support and shared with them that his signature move of wearing themed headgear for his picks makes him feel truly beautiful.

“When I have those silly things on my head, I feel like I’m finally myself,” said a wistful Corso. “I just feel like the most beautiful broadcaster at the ball. I can forget about everything else, and confidently make my pick. Thank you all for making it possible.”

Corso then let fall a few tears while thinking back to all the fabulous headgear he had donned along the way.
