A spokeswoman for Serena Williams confirmed today that the tennis star is pregnant with her first child, and that the unborn baby is already ranked 14th in the world.

“This is a very special time for me,” said Williams. “I have always wanted to have a child…who would be ranked as one of the top players in the world…before he or she was even born.”

“I want the #1 fetus in the world.”

Williams’ rep commented further, saying, “It might seem like a very specific goal, but that’s what makes Serena Serena: very specific goals regarding her unborn children, and of course, the tennis stuff.”

The 23-time major champion will be taking the rest of 2017 off to focus on her pregnancy. Her baby, who is due to be born in September, is slated to take part in the China Open in early October.
