The Kicker caught up with one of the stars of the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ken the Soccer Ball.
The Kicker: Man, what a whirlwind the last few months must have been for you.
Ken the Soccer Ball: You said it. I still can’t believe it. I’m practically bursting at the seams.
TK: Tell us your story.
KtSB: Well, I was just a young soccer ball, fresh out of the factory. And one day, some kids were kicking me around in a park, when a talent agent came up to my mom and gave her a business card. I ended up doing some print work, soccer catalogs and stuff, and then JJ [Abrams] called me. And here we are. Seriously.
TK: Who’s the funniest person in the cast?
KtSB: People seem surprised by this, but definitely Adam Driver. He always has me in stitches.
KtSB: Sorry, I’m nervous.
TK: Do any of the other cast members kick you around on set?
KtSB: [Laughs] There’s definitely some hazing, but I’m cool with it.
TK: So what’s next for you?
KtSB: Well, there’s an outside chance I could be used in the Summer Olympics in Beijing, which would be very cool because that’s where I’m from. Fingers crossed! I don’t have fingers.
TK: Well, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is in theaters on December 18. Run out and get your tickets, because they’re going fast!
KtSB: I just hope the theater is downhill from where I live because that is how I get places.
